RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY presents a preview of the feature film “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? A FILM ABOUT MAKING MUSIC “. It will be available digitally from 18th of February on the site http://www.rbma15.com.
“Che cosa significa vivere una vita per e attraverso la musica?”. Questa è la domanda che l’Academy e i suoi ospiti si sono posti sin dalla prima edizione del 1998 a Berlino.
Lo scorso anno, durante la Red Bull Music Academy di New York, il pluripremiato regista Ralf Schmerberg (Leone d’Oro a Cannes – premio Cinema for Peace) e il suo team hanno cercato di rispondere a questa domanda raccontando l’esperienza del workshop itinerante più prestigioso del mondo che in 15 anni ha fatto il giro del mondo coinvolgendo i più grandi artisti del panorama musicale internazionale.

Nel film sono raccolte le testimonianze di personaggi del calibro di LEE ‘SCRATCH’ PERRY, BRIAN ENO, PHILIP GLASS,GIORGIO MORODER, DEBBIE HARRY, ERYKAH BADU, RICHIE HAWTIN, THUNDERCAT, NILE RODGERS, RAKIM, SKREAM,Q-TIP, BERNIE WORRELL, EGYPTIAN LOVER, KEN SCOTT,  JAMES MURPHY, STEPHEN O’ MALLEY e molti altri ancora, tutti coinvolti nell’esperienza della Red Bull Music Academy come docenti, tutor o studenti. Il film inoltre, ci porta dentro gli studi, rendendo omaggio alla città di New York con riprese in stile cinéma vérité.

“What does it mean to live a life for and through music?“. This is the question that the Academy and his guests have arisen since its first edition in 1998 in Berlin.
Last year, during the Red Bull Music Academy in New York, the award-winning director Ralf Schmerberg (Golden Lion at Cannes – Cinema for Peace Award) and his team have tried to answer this question by telling the experience of traveling workshop world’s most prestigious that in 15 years he has been around the world, involving the greatest artists of the international music scene.

The film also takes us inside his studies, paying tribute to the city of New York with a shot in cinéma vérité style.
