Kristian Järvi e Zubin Metha e capolavori del primo Novecento inagurano il 30 e 31 agosto 2015 il Festival e Concorso Internazionale George Enescu.

Le serate successive di lunedì 31 agosto e martedì 1 settembre vedranno sul podio un altro leggendario maestro: Zubin Mehta calcherà le scene del Romanian Athenaeum insieme alla Israel Philharmonic Orchestra per affrontare pagine monumentali del sinfonismo del Novecento: la Kammersymphonie in mi maggiore, op. 9 di Schönberg, la Sinfonia n. 8 in do minore di Bruckner (il 31 agosto), il poema sinfonico Vox Maris di George Enescu e la Sinfonia n. 9 di Gustav Mahler (il primo settembre).
La ricchissima edizione 2015 ospiterà per 22 giorni 3000 artisti, che si esibiranno nell’ambito di 58 concerti al Palace Hall e all’Ateneo Romeno. Il cartellone spazia dal barocco alla musica del XXI secolo e include 22 composizioni di George Enescu. Si terranno inoltre altri numerosi appuntamenti all’aria aperta nell’ambito dell’Enescu Festival Square (3-20 settembre) e del Creative Bucharest – due progetti artistici nella forma di olimpiade culturale.

Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Will Participate in the 2015 Enescu Festival
XXII edition, Bucharest from August 30th to September 20th 2015
Near 2,500 foreign artists and 500 Romanian ones will join in the 2015 George Enescu Festival.
Among the participants, highlights include: Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Sankt Petersburgh Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic or Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, and soloists such as David Garrett, Murray Perahia, Maria João Pires, Renaud and Gautier Capuçon.
Ticket prices range from 36 Euro to 10 Euro.
The 2015 Edition will take place between August 30 and September 20 in Bucharest, and will host for 22 days 58 concerts at The Pallace Hall and The Romanian Athenaeum, as well as several outdoor events organized under the auspices of The Enescu Festival Square (September 3 to 20) and The Creative Bucharest – two artistic projects with the value of a true cultural olympiad.
Prestigious names in international classical music will participate in the George Enescu Festival’s upcoming edition.
The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at The Palace Hall on September 3, 2015, under the batton of legendary Sir Simon Rattle. The Berlin Philharmonic was voted number three on a list of Top Ten European Orchestras (in 2006) by the reputable British magazine Gramophone, and the second best orchestra in the world (in 2008), following the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam. The latter will also perform in the 2015 Enescu Festival, on September 19 and 20.
Renowned American orchestra San Francisco Symphony will participate in the Festival as well.
Famous conductor Zubin Mehta returns to the Festival in 2015, together with the Israel Philharmonic, for two concerts – on August 31 and September 1. They are joined by other well-known orchestras, such as: Vienna Philharmonic, Munich State Opera Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden conducted by Christina Thielemann, London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ion Marin, Sankt Petersburg Orchestra, Monte Carlo Philharmonic.
The 2015 Edition includes three significant Romanian participations: the National Youth Orchestra, which will open the Festival on August 30; George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir that will perform in concert premiere Opera Wozzeck by Alban Berg – often considered to be a work of reference for the 20th century; and the National Radio Orchestra together with the Radio Academic Choir that will interpret Mahler’s Eight Symphony.
Another notable presence in the Festival is that of Ion Marin, one of the musicians of Romanian origin most sought-after worldwide, who will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra on September 8 and 9, on The Palace Hall stage.
Among the 2015 Edition’s soloists are violinists David Garrett and Anne-Sophie Mutter; pianists Fazıl Say, legendary Murray Perahia (one of the most esteemed pianists internationally, who participated in the 2013 Festival as well), Yfrem Bronfman, Andras Schiff, Pierre Laurent Aimard, and recognized pianist Maria João Pires. Renaud and Gautier Capuçon will also perform on The Palace Hall stage. Georgian born pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja, a laureate of the 1964 Enescu Competition and an illustrious name in the classical music worldwide today, will perform in two eventlike concerts on September 6 at The Romanian Athenaeum, and on September 10, together with Sankt Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, at The Palace Hall.
Laureates of the George Enescu Competition will also grace the Festival with their presence: Alexandru Tomescu, Valery Sokolov, Ștefan Tarara, Vlad Stănculeasa, as well as Agnes Baltsa and Elisabeta Leonskaja.
20 works by Romanian composer George Enescu will be interpreted in the 2015 Edition of the Enescu Festival.
Highly regarded orchestras will perform George Enescu’s works during the three-week Festival – Israel Philharmonic (September 1), Staatskapelle Dresden (September 6), San Francisco Symphony (September 7), London Symphony Orchestra (September 8), Sankt Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (September 10), Bayerische Staatsoper (September 13), Monte Carlo Philharmonic (September 16), Wiener Philharmoniker (September 16), Royal Liverpool Symphony Orchestra (September 17) and Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam (September 20).
